A Demantoid and Diamond Ring
A ring featuring a central row of five graduating demantoid garnets, surrounded by a double row of diamonds. The rich green of the demantoids contrasts beautifully with the brilliant diamonds.
Demantoid garnets were highly prized around the turn of the 20th century for their vivid colour, often set alongside diamonds in platinum to enhance their brilliance. The combination of a platinum setting with an 18ct gold shank is characteristic of craftsmanship from the period.
Mounted in platinum with an 18ct gold shank.
American, circa 1900.
