A French Gold and Diamond Buckle Bracelet
A finely woven gold bracelet designed as a buckle, the clasp set with rose-cut diamonds and accompanied by two additional diamond-set sections. The richly textured gold weave contrasts beautifully with the soft sparkle of the rose-cut diamonds.
Buckle motifs were especially popular in late 19th-century jewellery, symbolising fidelity and enduring love. The use of rose-cut diamonds — with their flat backs and faceted domed tops — gives the bracelet a gentle, candlelit shimmer characteristic of the period, enhancing its antique charm.
Mounted in gold.
French, circa 1890.
The bracelet measures 18cm.
