An Amethyst and Diamond Brooch
Having a central oval amethyst set in reverse with a polished cabochon uppermost and a faceted back. This 'backwards' effect allows light to reflect off the back facets through the smooth cabochon surface. The central stone is mounted in an ornate diamond frame.
