Georg Jensen. A Gold Tulip Bracelet, Designed by Harald Nielsen

£6,800.00

An 18ct yellow gold bracelet of stylised tulip design, created by Harald Nielsen for Georg Jensen. The bracelet is composed of sculptural tulip-form links, each rendered with soft curvature and refined simplicity, creating a rhythmic, organic flow around the wrist. The design embodies the restrained elegance and naturalistic inspiration for which Danish jewellery became internationally admired in the mid-20th century.

Harald Nielsen, one of Jensen’s most important designers, worked for the house from 1935 until the 1960s. Although not formally trained as a silversmith, Nielsen became a central creative force within the company, translating the Jensen aesthetic into pieces of enduring modernity. His work is characterised by clean lines, balanced proportions, and an organic sensibility rooted in Scandinavian design principles.

Founded in Copenhagen in 1904, Georg Jensen became synonymous with exceptional craftsmanship and artistic silver and gold work. By the 1940s, the firm had established an international reputation, with designs that bridged Art Nouveau softness and emerging Scandinavian modernism. Today, mid-century Georg Jensen jewels are highly sought after by collectors, appreciated for their sculptural quality, timeless design, and strong design provenance.

Mounted in 18ct yellow gold.

Danish, circa 1945.
